About Ajay Nehdra, MD
Bio:
Dr. Ajay Nehra is the Chairperson, Professor of Urology, and Director of Men’s Health for the Department of Urology at Rush University Medical Center. Prior to his affiliation at Rush, Dr. Nehra was the Professor of Urology and Director of Men’s Health at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN from July 1995 – April 2012. During his time at the Mayo Clinic, he developed the Men’s Health Center and expanded it on an international level. Dr. Nehra is internationally and nationally and internationally recognized expert in the field of Urology, Men’s Health, and Male Sexual Dysfunction and Infertility and Quality of Life Issues following a diagnosis of Prostate and Bladder Cancer.
Dr. Nehra completed his medical training at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences New Delhi, India. He completed his surgical training at Department of Surgery Malden Hospital Malden, MA, where he was a Surgical Transitional Intern and continued his surgical residency at the Department of Surgery Boston University School of Medicine Boston, MA. In 1992-1993 he was the Chief Resident at the Department of Urology Maimonides Medical Center Brooklyn, NY. He was appointed to the American Foundation for Urologic Disease Research Scholar and from 1993-1955 completed his fellowship in Male Sexual Dysfunction and Infertility at the Department of Urology Boston University School of Medicine Boston, MA.
Dr. Nehra is actively involved in numerous well renowned medical societies, including American Urological Association (AUA) and the North Central Section of the American Urological Association. Dr. Nehra has also contributed over 132 peer reviewed publications and over 25 book chapters. He is a Reviewer for over 9 international and national medical journals, including the Journal of Urology, the British Journal of Urology, and the Journal of Sexual Medicine. Dr. Nehra currently serves as Chair of the AUA Guidelines Committee for Erectile Dysfunction, International Liaison to India for the AUA, Associate Editor of the AUA News, Editor of the Journal of Men’s Health, and also as the President Elect of the International Society of Men’s Health.
